Kevin Johnson (right) and Matt Wheeler photo archivists at the Penobscot Marine Museum pose for a portrait with a giant camera obsura that is constructed on the lawn of the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport. The image was taken with an improvised pinhole attachment made from a dustcap and some tape on a modern digital camera. I drilled a hole on a camera’s dust cap and covered it with tape. Then punched a small hole into the tape with the aid of a small nail. This is a crude five-minute solution it produced a recognizable image. When the giant camera is complete visitors will be able to see the image projected on the inside. Gabor Degre | BDN
